OASIS Quality Management Quality Outcome

On the surface, OASIS data collection and quality management seems simple. However, managing patient care, improving quality of care, understanding, documenting and assessing data proves to be one of the most challenging aspects of your agency's business and can ultimately affect the care proved to your patients.

Improve OASIS Accuracy and Case Mix Weight

Consistency and accuracy of OASIS assessments are two of the most complicated and critical functions agencies have to achieve. Inconsistencies lead to misinterpretations by regulators, lower Home Health Compare scores and inaccurate reimbursements.

Fazzi's three OASIS training services will sharpen your clinicians' OASIS skills, pinpoint areas of concern and train them to be more accurate, more knowledgeable and more consistent.

  • OASIS I: Clinical Skill and Confidence Development
  • OASIS II: Management and Organization Development
  • OASIS III: Care Management NOW

Quality Management Services for Accountability and Reliability

Improving your strategies for OASIS competency, integrity of your reviews and monitoring your OASIS field performance will lead to improved accuracy, fewer inconsistencies, improved patient care and lower costs.

Fazzi realizes the difficulties that administrative managers face in controlling, reviewing, and maintaining OASIS services. Our management solutions include:

  • Managers' Workshop
  • Reviewer Training
  • Inter-rater Reliability Workshop

Quality Outcome Services to Improve Your Quality of Care

Fazzi focuses on improving your specific quality outcomes that are a concern to your agency and offer solutions, particularly the quality outcomes in Home Health Compare and those that will be part of the new home care P4P service.

This service is designed to target and improve specific outcomes. We will install a special report writer to allow you to download a list of patients whose specifically identified outcomes stabilized and/or declined within a given time frame (one calendar quarter). We then analyze the initial OASIS assessment completed, the interventions of care and the discharge OASIS assessment. We diagnose the problem(s) and develop a comprehensive action plan for improvement of the specific outcome.

"Doing OASIS audits and trainings each year builds staff confidence and positive feelings about our agency. Our case mix weight and reimbursement per patient goes up. And, our level of accuracy and quality outcomes improve — critical in the pay-for-performance environment."

One of the goals of the Home Care Quality Institute is to encourage and support more qualitative and quantitative research efforts directed at improving the efficiency and use of the OASIS instrument in the field, the tools used by clinicians to provide services to patients and ultimately the quality outcome for patients.
