National OASIS-C Fast Track Improvement
Project
The National OASIS-C Fast Track Improvement
Project is designed to identify inconsistencies and
challenges associated with staff utilization of the
new OASIS-C collection tool. Through the study, we will
collect OASIS-C responses to specific M items from agency
software using Home Health Gold’s Buddy System.
The data will be collected for the January and February
SOC/ROC OASIS performed. The project will also collect
case mix weight (CMW) information from 2009 and compare
it to CMW obtained from OASIS-C during the initial two
months.
Agencies were asked to sign up for participation
in the project by March 26, 2010. Home Health Gold staff
will install the Buddy System at your agency by early
April and will extract the data that is needed for the
study. Home Health Gold staff will provide a webinar
on the process to all participating agencies. The information
collected will be sent to Fazzi Associates who will
analyze the data to identify inconsistencies and challenges
for each agency and for the group as a whole. This step
in the project will require no more than one hour of
staff time from an agency. The fee to cover the cost
of The Buddy System install and data collection is $100
per agency and that is the only fee for the project.
Fazzi Associates will provide individual
reports to agencies that will identify vulnerabilities
and opportunities for improvement, as well as a report
on the aggregated data from the group by mid-June. Fazzi
will also share the outcomes with the industry at a
free Webinar in late June.
Home Health Gold will keep the Buddy System
installed in the participating agencies for three months
to allow agencies to analyze their own data and identify
problems and inconsistencies. Home Health Gold will
provide instructional webinars on using the system to
staff at the agency.
